Den­ham hit back to stay in the hunt for ti­tle

DEN­HAM Ladies U15s came from a goal be­hind to record a 4-1 win against Portsmouth Girls to re­main se­cond in the Sur­rey league.

The side went be­hind in the open­ing 10 min­utes be­fore a goal from Katie Akerman sent the teams into half-time all square.

Den­ham dom­i­nated the se­cond half and goals from Char­lotte Par­rett, Katie Rid­ding­ton and An­nie Walsh put the game to bed, while Ju­lia Thu­ruaf was awarded player of the match for an ex­cel­lent all-round per­for­mance.

An im­pres­sive de­fen­sive per­for­mance from Gina Lee, An­nie Walsh and Kodi Spencer meant stand-in keeper Jes­sica Stick­ley only had two at­tempts to deal with through­out the game.

In the Mid­dle­sex FA County Cup U14 com­pe­ti­tion, West Dray­ton youth be­come the first team from the bor­ough to reach a Mid­dle­sex county cup fi­nal since 2000. West Dray­ton scored twice in the fi­nal 10 min­utes through Natu Mengesh and Chadeem Josiah to take the game to ex­tra time af­ter fall­ing two goals be­hind. Ex­tra time goals from Roble Aden and Cyson Kelly sealed a 4-2 vic­tory and West Dray­ton’s spot in the fi­nal.

Har­row Youth U12s recorded an im­pres­sive 12-0 vic­tory against West Dray­ton youth thanks to a Lewis Jones hat-trick.

Frank Ma­jor and Sa­muel Trim both net­ted braces while Har­vey Brown, Fin­ley Richard­son, Jack Turner and Pa­trick Evans com­pleted the scor­ing for Har­row.

Sandgate Youth FC had six games over the week­end across five dif­fer­ent age groups, reg­is­ter­ing three wins in the process.

The U7 side won 5-2 against Rock­slane U7 thanks to a Harry Ward hat trick and a brace from Aaron Jones.

The U9 Colts faced an away trip to Hilling­don Ab­bots which ended in a 3-3 draw, while the U10 Colts won 1-0 away to Lalaha U9s.

Gavin Jones, Jorsh Padda and Al­fie Clark scored for the U11 Colts as they drew 3-3 with Con­corde U11s.

The Sandgate U16s won 2-0 on the road against Cam­ber­ley with Sobalak and Lo­gan find­ing the back of the net.
