Denham hit back to stay in the hunt for title
DENHAM Ladies U15s came from a goal behind to record a 4-1 win against Portsmouth Girls to remain second in the Surrey league.
The side went behind in the opening 10 minutes before a goal from Katie Akerman sent the teams into half-time all square.
Denham dominated the second half and goals from Charlotte Parrett, Katie Riddington and Annie Walsh put the game to bed, while Julia Thuruaf was awarded player of the match for an excellent all-round performance.
An impressive defensive performance from Gina Lee, Annie Walsh and Kodi Spencer meant stand-in keeper Jessica Stickley only had two attempts to deal with throughout the game.
In the Middlesex FA County Cup U14 competition, West Drayton youth become the first team from the borough to reach a Middlesex county cup final since 2000. West Drayton scored twice in the final 10 minutes through Natu Mengesh and Chadeem Josiah to take the game to extra time after falling two goals behind. Extra time goals from Roble Aden and Cyson Kelly sealed a 4-2 victory and West Drayton’s spot in the final.
Harrow Youth U12s recorded an impressive 12-0 victory against West Drayton youth thanks to a Lewis Jones hat-trick.
Frank Major and Samuel Trim both netted braces while Harvey Brown, Finley Richardson, Jack Turner and Patrick Evans completed the scoring for Harrow.
Sandgate Youth FC had six games over the weekend across five different age groups, registering three wins in the process.
The U7 side won 5-2 against Rockslane U7 thanks to a Harry Ward hat trick and a brace from Aaron Jones.
The U9 Colts faced an away trip to Hillingdon Abbots which ended in a 3-3 draw, while the U10 Colts won 1-0 away to Lalaha U9s.
Gavin Jones, Jorsh Padda and Alfie Clark scored for the U11 Colts as they drew 3-3 with Concorde U11s.
The Sandgate U16s won 2-0 on the road against Camberley with Sobalak and Logan finding the back of the net.
