Teenagers inspired at conference
STUDENTS from ACS Hillingdon International School were among 800 young people who attended a conference called TEDxTeen 2016.
The 17 and 18 year-olds heard from inspirational speakers, including young activists, entrepreneurs and inventors, on how to make a positive impact on the world. There were also performances from a host of artists at the O2 Arena event.
Young speakers discussed topics and experiences ranging from food waste to immigration, as well as technology’s role in public safety to Islam in mainstream fashion.
Latifa Hassanali, programme manager for ACS Centre for Inspiring Minds, said: “It was so exciting for our students to be part of such a huge event, which was streamed globally.
“They left feeling inspired and empowered to make a difference in the world, which is fantastic to see.”
