Man ar­rested af­ter biker dies in col­li­sion

A MAN has been ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of caus­ing death by dan­ger­ous driv­ing af­ter a col­li­sion in Hayes, which claimed the life of a mo­tor­cy­clist.

A BMW car col­lided with the rider in Shep­is­ton Lane, close to the fire sta­tion, on Satur­day Fe­bru­ary 20.

The Lon­don Am­bu­lance Ser­vice and Lon­don’s Air Am­bu­lance at­tended but the male mo­tor­cy­clist, aged 46, was pro­nounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been in­formed but for­mal iden­ti­fi­ca­tion has yet to take place.

A post-mortem ex­am­i­na­tion will be sched­uled in due course.

The driver of the BMW, a 29-year-old man, was ar­rested at the scene on sus­pi­cion of caus­ing death by dan­ger­ous driv­ing.

He was taken to a west Lon­don po­lice sta­tion and bailed pend­ing fur­ther en­quiries to a date in late May.
