Next step is a film for autism aware­ness cam­paigner Anna

UXBRIDGE mum Anna Kennedy OBE has cre­ated an in­spir­ing video about women liv­ing with autism, in con­junc­tion with In­ter­na­tional Women’s Day.

The video en­ti­tled In­spir­ing Women, In­spir­ing Change doc­u­ments the ex­pe­ri­ences of five mums liv­ing with autism.

The film, re­leased in con­junc­tion with In­ter­na­tional Women’s Day yes­ter­day (Tues­day), cel­e­brates women who face daily strug­gles with autism and what they have achieved.

The video in­cludes mu­sic by artist Tiger Lilly, who wrote the song Woman for the video and the char­ity.

Tiger Lilly said: “I have so much re­spect and ad­mi­ra­tion for the Anna Kennedy On­line char­ity, so it was an hon­our to write a song for this very spe­cial video which en­com­passes the essence of wom­an­hood and their strength through­out our his­tory.”

Tak­ing part in the video are: Anna Kennedy, founder of the char­ity; Sa­man­tha Tom­lin, founder of Clas­sic Mod­els; Dawn Avery, fi­nan­cial di­rec­tor to six com­pa­nies; Joanne Wig­gins, sin­gle mum of two and ac­tive char­ity cham­pion; and Mala Tha­par, ac­tive char­ity cham­pion and event or­gan­iser.

Ms Kennedy said: “We wanted to cre­ate a video tha that fo­cuses on th­ese pro pro­fes­sional achieveme ments, and shows how au autism and their chil­dren hav have changed and ins in­spired their lives. Th­ese wo women in­spire me eve ev­ery­day, and I wanted to tra trans­fer this in­spi­ra­tion to other peo­ple.

“Our video is help­ing t to spread an hon­est mes­sage about liv­ing with autism. It is al al­low­ing us to ex­pand ou our out­reach, raise aw aware­ness and con­tinue to sup­port more and more fam­i­lies on a global scale.”

To cel­e­brate In­ter­na­tional Women’s Day and the suc­cess of the video, a Live Women in Mu­sic event will be held on Fri­day March 11 at Hard Rock Café in May­fair.

The event will be a show­case of up-and­com­ing fe­male mu­sic acts, and the film will also be screened. Tick­ets for the event cost £10; book yours on­line now – 10 per cent of ticket sales will be do­nated to Anna Kennedy On­line.
