St Swithun crowned bor­ough cham­pi­ons

ST SWITHUN Wells RC Pri­mary School will be turn­ing out to­day (Wed­nes­day) at the Lon­don Youth Games af­ter be­ing crowned Hilling­don Bor­ough six-a-side cham­pi­ons.

A bat­tling per­for­mance saw the side beat 56 other teams to win the ti­tle and earn their place in the Lon­don Youth Games.

The nine-boy squad ini­tially won an 18-school Ruis­lip and North­wood com­pe­ti­tion be­fore win­ning a tour­na­ment with Ne­wham and the top two teams from Hayes and Har­ling­ton and North Hayes and Uxbridge to de­ter­mine the right to rep­re­sent the bor­ough.

Un­der­pinned by the for­mi­da­ble Os­car Adams in goal, ster­ling on­field ef­forts from Char­lie Baird, Sonny Nea­gle, Emilio Slevin, Johnny Lavelle, Ruairi McLough­lin, James Ed­wards, Ge­orge Ab­bott and Conor Tar­rant saw the team through to the cap­i­tal fi­nals.
