Beggar’s belief outside station

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION -

HOW is begging so persistent, when it is illegal?

Outside Rayners Lane Station today was a begging busker.

His guitar playing was so bad, a dog could have done better using his tail. I complained to the station staff, who said they cannot move him as he is outside.

Walking round the corner there was a fit, able-bodied man dressed in the best attire, smoking, who said to me ‘give me £1, I have nothing’, taking a puff on his cigarette.

I enlightened him ‘you are doing better than I am’. Two minutes later, he had vanished.

There should be warnings on hoardings that it is illegal and the consequences are severe.
