Circuit capacity boost
HILLINGDON’S cycle circuit is getting a much needed capacity increase thanks to the construction of two link roads to give the option of two circuits from the existing one.
The circuit was opened in 1995 and is one of the oldest British Cycling constructed circuits and the chairman of the Hillingdon Circuit Users Group, Stuart Benstead, is grateful of the Hillingdon Borough’s support.
He said, “We are most grateful that British Cycling have obtained the support of the London Borough of Hillingdon to make this £120,000 project possible.
“The two circuits will enable all user groups to present a range of extra coaching opportunities within the time available.”
Director of coaching, education and development for British Cycling, John Mills, said: “Hillingdon is the oldest of the British Cycling constructed circuits so it is not surprising that it needs upgrading to support such a heavy programme of use.”
