Ve­hi­cles de­stroyed in in­dus­trial site fire

Fire­fight­ers spend four hours tack­ling in­ferno

FIF­TEEN ve­hi­cles were de­stroyed in a fire at an in­dus­trial area on Packet Boat Lane in Hilling­don.

The blaze was put out by fire­fight­ers in the early hours of the morn­ing on Thurs­day last week.

Six fire en­gines and 35 fire­fight­ers were called to the blaze, which is said to have “com­pletely de­stroyed” a re­pair garage, along with 15 ve­hi­cles that were on the premises.

Lon­don Fire Brigade (LFB) said they at­tended the scene at around 1.51am and added that the blaze was un­der con­trol by 5.59am.

Fire crews Hilling­don,

from Hayes, Heathrow and Southall fire sta­tions at­tended the scene.

Crews on the scene pre­vented the fire from spread­ing to ad­ja­cent prop­er­ties. Seven gas cylin­ders were found at the area, cooled down and re­moved.

No per­sons were in­volved in the in­ci­dent and no in­juries have been re­ported.

The cause of the fire is cur­rently un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
