THOR­OUGHLY Mod­ern Mil­lie comes to Ruis­lip in a ‘fab­u­lous’ show

It’s 1922 and Mil­lie Dill­mount, an am­bi­tious girl from Kansas, comes to New York hop­ing to fall in love, marry a man and make her for­tune.

In this fast-paced pro­duc­tion, Ruis­lip Op­er­atic So­ci­ety (ROS) cel­e­brate the mu­sic and moves of the Roar­ing Twen­ties.

Fol­low­ing on from a sell-out pro­duc­tion of Sis­ter Act in 2015, Thor­oughly Mod­ern Mil­lie will bring the jazz era to Ruis­lip un­der the di­rec­tion of Deb­bie Day, with a 25-strong cast.

The ti­tle char­ac­ter, Mil­lie Dill­mount, is played by He­len Shep­pard-Bools, in her first lead role with ROS.

Ms Shep­pard-Bools said: “I am hav­ing a ball as Mil­lie. The cos­tumes are won­der­ful, the mu­sic and danc­ing is fab­u­lous. I am sure the au­di­ence will have as much fun as we have”.

Thor­oughly Mod­ern Mil­lie plays at the Win­ston Churchill Theatre in Ruis­lip from Wed­nes­day April 6 to Satur­day April 9.
