Four deny charges af­ter brawl

FOUR peo­ple have ap­peared in court over a mass brawl at Houn­slow Heath, which left five peo­ple in hospital.

Brian McDon­agh, 20; Charles McDon­agh, 23; Char­lie McDon­agh, 42; and a 17-year-old male, who can­not be named for le­gal rea­sons, all ap­peared at Isle­worth Crown Court on Thurs­day, March 31.

The quar­tet, all of whom live in Manor Waye, Uxbridge , are each charged with one count of vi­o­lent disor­der and one of pos­sess­ing an of­fen­sive weapon in a pub­lic place.

They all de­nied the charges, ex­cept for Brian McDon­agh, who has yet to en­ter a plea pend­ing a hear­ing at the court on April 28, when he will at­tempt to have them dis­missed.

The other de­fen­dants are due to re­turn to the court for trial in the week be­gin­ning June 27.

Police were called to Staines Road, Houn­slow, on the morn­ing of Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 28, to re­ports of a fight.

The fight took place near to a car boot sale tak­ing place that morn­ing, though the or­gan­iser has said it did not hap­pen on the premises.

Police have been mon­i­tor­ing car boot sales at the site since the in­ci­dent, and a ban on the sale of power tools has been im­posed.

Of­fi­cers said five peo­ple aged be­tween 17 and 42 re­quired treat­ment at hospital for in­juries in­clud­ing a bro­ken leg and a stab wound.
