Harefield Gazette - - NEWS - By Katherine Clementine

A MAN has been charged with GBH with intent after stabbing his victim in the stomach in Hayes.

Metropolitan Police officers were called at 6.35pm on Saturday, March 26 to Selan Gardens, Hayes, where a 36-year-old man was found at the scene with a stab wound to his abdomen.

He was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service (LAS) suffering serious injuries, but he has now been discharged from hospital.

Detectives investigating the serious assault charged Bhupinder Suman, 40, of Selan Gardens, on Monday March 28 with one offence of grievous bodily harm with intent and one offence of threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.

He was kept in custody to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court the same day and remanded in custody by the court.

Suman will next appear at Isleworth Crown Court on April 25.

The alleged offence has caused fear among neighbours who saw the aftermath of the incident unfold.

An eyewitness, who did not want to be named, was concerned after seeing blue lights and emergency vehicles in the street.

They said: “There have been people walking in and out with blue suits ever since and police vans come up and down the street a few times every day.

“Last month, a black cab was broken into and set alight, then some time later one of the garages was set alight too.

“Nobody on our road knows exactly what happened, who did it and why. We have a right to know. After all, it’s making us all feel unsafe.”

A further two men, one aged 43 and another aged 32, were arrested on Wednesday, March 30.

Both men have been bailed to appear at a police station on dates in late April and early May.
