The fastest way to finish off this area

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION -

I HAVE written hundreds of letters to MPs – House of Commons, individuals who may understand and help.

Help to stop the white financial elephant which will stamp out the part of our area, known for its beauty, history, wildlife – for the luxury of going to Birmingham in 20 minutes.

Flats, houses, fields, roads will be re-arranged. You cannot refurnish Henry VIII’s stables and all the other ‘items’ which will be wiped out. It is a very sad time.

Those who agree, and wish the situation could be changed, have given time, money and tried their very best. In other countries the people would have created havoc.

So much requires financial support – the NHS, education, nursing, housing, immigration and the work problem – not forgetting the steel energy.

The HS2 is a folly. The work effort changes and electronics mean people can work from home.

All this, and there is seldom a letter, asking one question – How can the victims of the HS2 stop it? Who is the Politician who will listen, understand and make peace with the threat to ‘finish off ’ this area?
