Third defendant denies rape charge
Offences relate to same girl under the age of 13
THE last of three young men accused of raping the same girl in the Uxbridge area – who was aged under 13 at the time of the offences – has denied the charge.
Billy Lee Scarrott, 20, of no fixed abode, pleaded not guilty to the rape of a child under 13 at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday April 15.
His trial will begin on September 26 at the same court.
Two other defendants were accused of raping the same girl, at different times and locations, in the Uxbridge area between March and July 2014, although one has since had his charge reduced.
Ben Adaway, 18, of Frays Waye, Uxbridge, will be tried separately, after pleading not guilty at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday March 14.
He will be back at the same court for a four-day trial due to begin August 30.
The third defendant, a 17-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, from Southall, Ealing, appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on February 18.
He entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge of intentionally touching a girl under the age of 13 and was due to be sentenced at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday March 31.
The sentencing hearing has been adjourned until Thursday April 21 at the same court.
All three defendants were charged by police on January 14.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed all the charges related to a single victim.
