Third de­fen­dant de­nies rape charge

Of­fences re­late to same girl un­der the age of 13

THE last of three young men ac­cused of rap­ing the same girl in the Uxbridge area – who was aged un­der 13 at the time of the of­fences – has de­nied the charge.

Billy Lee Scar­rott, 20, of no fixed abode, pleaded not guilty to the rape of a child un­der 13 at Isle­worth Crown Court on Fri­day April 15.

His trial will be­gin on Septem­ber 26 at the same court.

Two other de­fen­dants were ac­cused of rap­ing the same girl, at dif­fer­ent times and lo­ca­tions, in the Uxbridge area be­tween March and July 2014, although one has since had his charge re­duced.

Ben Ad­away, 18, of Frays Waye, Uxbridge, will be tried separately, af­ter plead­ing not guilty at Isle­worth Crown Court on Mon­day March 14.

He will be back at the same court for a four-day trial due to be­gin Au­gust 30.

The third de­fen­dant, a 17-year-old male, who can­not be named for le­gal rea­sons, from Southall, Eal­ing, ap­peared at Uxbridge Mag­is­trates’ Court on Fe­bru­ary 18.

He en­tered a guilty plea to a lesser charge of in­ten­tion­ally touch­ing a girl un­der the age of 13 and was due to be sen­tenced at Uxbridge Mag­is­trates’ Court on Thurs­day March 31.

The sen­tenc­ing hear­ing has been ad­journed un­til Thurs­day April 21 at the same court.

All three de­fen­dants were charged by po­lice on Jan­uary 14.

A Metropoli­tan Po­lice spokesper­son con­firmed all the charges re­lated to a sin­gle vic­tim.
