Man in court over attempted murder charge
Defendant also accused of drink driving
A MAN in his 60s has been charged with attempted murder and drink driving, after reports of a woman being struck by a car near an Uxbridge pub.
Police were called to reports of a woman being injured after being struck by a car in a car park in Old Orchard Close, Uxbridge, at around 10.30pm on Friday April 8.
The incident believed to is have happened outside The Hut pub, which has a beer garden and adjoining car park.
London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed they were called to reports of a ‘road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car’ in Old Orchard Close.
An LAS spokesperson said: “We sent a number of resources, including a medical team by car from London’s Air Ambulance and an advanced paramedic.
“We treated a woman for a head injury and she was taken as a priority to a major trauma centre, escorted by the doctor from London’s Air Ambulance.”
Michael Tottem, 64, of Collingwood Road, Uxbridge has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman and drink driving.
He appeared in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday April 11 and was remanded in custody.
Tottem will appear at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday May 9.
