U11s reap the rewards with Harvesters victory
United youngsters show courage to complete comeback YOUTH FOOTBALL
A HILLINGDON youngster stole the show with an eightmedal haul at the Scottish Age Group Nationals in Glasgow.
Sean-Patrick McGowan, 13, ruled the roost at Tollcross International Swimming Centre in the 12 to 13 year-old age group and notched up several personal best times.
He grabbed gold in the 100m fly, took silvers in the 200m fly, DENHAM United Ladies U11s showed real courage to battle to victory over Harvesters at the weekend.
The youngsters just edged the contest after coming from behind to taste victory in a gutsy performance at The Den.
Goals were scored by Maddison Taylor, Chloe Beckwith and Ellie Donegan, although there were many special performances as Charlotte Gaffney, Sophie Hopkins and Maddison Taylor all impressed. 50m free, 100m free, 200m free and 400m free, as well as bronze medals in 50m fly and 100m back.
The event served as an opportunity to gain qualifying times for the British Summer Championships in July.

Kayleigh Currivan helped herself to a fine hat-trick as United’s U15s triumphed 5-1 over Crystal Palace.
Jessica Stickley’s first-half double blast had set them on their way to victory, which keeps them just behind Wimbledon with four league games remaining.
Denham’s U14s were 3-1 winners over Harvesters – Holly Symons, Niamh Reynolds and Shania Foley getting the goals.
The win moves the girls to second in the Hertfordshire League.
There was also a victory for the U10s to celebrate as they beat Tottenham in their best performance of the campaign.
Denham Ladies’ senior side grabbed a 3-1 win over Old Actonians courtesy of Elishia Allen, Natalie Murray and Clarice Gould.
Allen was also on target for the reserves, who beat Chichester 5-2, with Emma McConnell, Charlie Leigh Dixon, Kelly Poynton and Krystal Clarke also netting.
Meanwhile, Denham have confirmed their annual summer tournament will take place from May 28 to May 30.
Teams can be entered from U9s level right through to seniors.
