U11s reap the re­wards with Har­vesters vic­tory

United young­sters show courage to com­plete comeback YOUTH FOOT­BALL

A HILLING­DON young­ster stole the show with an eightmedal haul at the Scot­tish Age Group Na­tion­als in Glas­gow.

Sean-Pa­trick McGowan, 13, ruled the roost at Toll­cross In­ter­na­tional Swimming Cen­tre in the 12 to 13 year-old age group and notched up sev­eral per­sonal best times.

He grabbed gold in the 100m fly, took sil­vers in the 200m fly, DEN­HAM United Ladies U11s showed real courage to bat­tle to vic­tory over Har­vesters at the week­end.

The young­sters just edged the con­test af­ter com­ing from be­hind to taste vic­tory in a gutsy per­for­mance at The Den.

Goals were scored by Mad­di­son Tay­lor, Chloe Beck­with and El­lie Done­gan, although there were many spe­cial per­for­mances as Char­lotte Gaffney, So­phie Hop­kins and Mad­di­son Tay­lor all im­pressed. 50m free, 100m free, 200m free and 400m free, as well as bronze medals in 50m fly and 100m back.

The event served as an op­por­tu­nity to gain qual­i­fy­ing times for the Bri­tish Sum­mer Cham­pi­onships in July.

Kayleigh Cur­rivan helped her­self to a fine hat-trick as United’s U15s tri­umphed 5-1 over Crys­tal Palace.

Jes­sica Stick­ley’s first-half dou­ble blast had set them on their way to vic­tory, which keeps them just be­hind Wim­ble­don with four league games re­main­ing.

Den­ham’s U14s were 3-1 win­ners over Har­vesters – Holly Sy­mons, Ni­amh Reynolds and Sha­nia Fo­ley get­ting the goals.

The win moves the girls to sec­ond in the Hert­ford­shire League.

There was also a vic­tory for the U10s to cel­e­brate as they beat Tot­ten­ham in their best per­for­mance of the cam­paign.

Den­ham Ladies’ se­nior side grabbed a 3-1 win over Old Ac­to­ni­ans cour­tesy of Elishia Allen, Natalie Mur­ray and Clarice Gould.

Allen was also on tar­get for the re­serves, who beat Chichester 5-2, with Emma McCon­nell, Char­lie Leigh Dixon, Kelly Poyn­ton and Krys­tal Clarke also net­ting.

Mean­while, Den­ham have con­firmed their an­nual sum­mer tour­na­ment will take place from May 28 to May 30.

Teams can be en­tered from U9s level right through to se­niors.
