Nurse’s story proves a bestselling tale

Harefield Gazette - - NEWS -

FINDING Tipperary Mary, the book co-written by our columnist Barbara Fisher, topped the book chart in WH Smith in Uxbridge last week.

The novel tells the story of her friend, district nurse Phyllis Whitsell, who tracked down the alcoholic mother who gave her up for adoption.

And it’s proved so popular locally that it’s even pushed baking queen Mary Berry and former Prime Minister Tony Blair off the top spot.

Barbara said: “The book is really doing well. I was chuffed to see it in the number one bestsellers slot in Uxbridge WH Smiths.

“It was funny to see Phyllis’s book had pushed Mary Berry and the Tony Blair book to numbers two and three.”
