Hillingdon the cheapest place in the west to rent
HILLINGDON is the cheapest place in west London to rent, according to new figures.
The average property costs tenants £1,150 a month, £300 below the London average of £1,452.
The average rent in Hounslow in comparison rocketed by 16 per cent last year. The average monthly rent in the borough for 2015/16 was £1,450 – up by £200 from the previous year – statistics from the Valuation Office Agency show.
Kensington and Chelsea saw the next biggest annual rise in west London, of 9.5 per cent, with typical tenants there now forking out £2,492 a month.
Rents were also up, albeit by smaller margins, in Ealing and Harrow, but there was no change in average prices in Hammersmith & Fulham or Westminster.
Across England, the average monthly rental price is £650, up by £50 from 2014/15. In London, it stands at £1,452. More than 1,800 people recently signed a petition raising concerns about how affordable ‘affordable’ housing at a development in Ealing will be.
