Man dies af­ter fall­ing ill in Aldi

A MAN has died fol­low­ing a car­diac ar­rest at the Aldi in South Ruis­lip on Thurs­day May 19, po­lice have con­firmed.

Shop­pers and passersby were con­cerned when am­bu­lance ve­hi­cles and po­lice cars were spot­ted, but po­lice said no crime had been com­mit­ted.

A man was later hos­pi­talised af­ter it tran­spired he had gone into car­diac ar­rest at the scene.

In­spec­tor Rob Bryan, of the Met­ro­pol­i­tan Po­lice, said on Mon­day: “A man col­lapsed and was taken to hospi­tal. Sadly, he died and next of kin have been in­formed.”

Lon­don Am­bu­lance Ser­vice (LAS) con­firmed they were called at 4.05pm on Thurs­day to re­ports of an un­well per­son in Vic­to­ria Road.

The LAS spokesman said: “We sent an am­bu­lance crew and a sin­gle re­spon­der by car to the scene. We treated a man in car­diac ar­rest at the scene and took him to hospi­tal as a pri­or­ity.”
