Team of mums en­sure sum­mer fayre shines

A TEAM of mums from Ic Ick­en­ham’s Glebe P Pri­mary School or or­gan­ised a daz­zling sh show on Satur­day to ra raise money for the sc school dur­ing their su sum­mer fayre.

The event was kicked of off at 1pm by the Mayor of Hilling­don John Hens­ley and fea­tured tra­di­tional fair­ground games, s stalls, dance per­for­mances and even a dads foot­ball match.

Around 600 par­ents, chil­dren and res­i­dents en­joyed the fayre, which was or­gan­ised by four mums from the Friends of Glebe group.

One of the or­gan­is­ers Suzanne Niznik, whose son is in year two at the school, said: “It was ab­so­lutely fan­tas­tic. It was such a great event and I think it will be hard to top.

“There was a very good turnout. The school and the com­mu­nity re­ally came to­gether.”

This was the first time the Sus­sex Road school had held its sum­mer fayre in four years, af­ter it un­der­went a com­plete re­fur­bish­ment.

The money raised through­out the day has yet to be counted, but all pro­ceeds will go to the school.
