Team of mums ensure summer fayre shines
A TEAM of mums from Ic Ickenham’s Glebe P Primary School or organised a dazzling sh show on Saturday to ra raise money for the sc school during their su summer fayre.
The event was kicked of off at 1pm by the Mayor of Hillingdon John Hensley and featured traditional fairground games, s stalls, dance performances and even a dads football match.
Around 600 parents, children and residents enjoyed the fayre, which was organised by four mums from the Friends of Glebe group.
One of the organisers Suzanne Niznik, whose son is in year two at the school, said: “It was absolutely fantastic. It was such a great event and I think it will be hard to top.
“There was a very good turnout. The school and the community really came together.”
This was the first time the Sussex Road school had held its summer fayre in four years, after it underwent a complete refurbishment.
The money raised throughout the day has yet to be counted, but all proceeds will go to the school.
