Man pleads not guilty to shop­keeper GBH

A 32-YEAR-OLD man from Ruis­lip has pleaded not guilty to caus­ing se­ri­ous in­juries to an Uxbridge shop­keeper who was hos­pi­talised for a week af­ter al­legedly be­ing at­tacked.

John Dono­van ap­peared at Isle­worth Crown Court on Thurs­day July 7 and de­nied caus­ing griev­ous bod­ily harm to the un­named 56-year-old vic­tim.

The shop­keeper suf­fered head and fa­cial in­jures dur­ing the re­ported at­tack out­side a pa­rade of shops in Moor­field Road, Cow­ley, on Mon­day June 6. Po­lice were called to reports of an as­sault shortly af­ter 8.15pm and the shop­keeper was taken to a west London hos­pi­tal by London Am­bu­lance Service for treat­ment for se­ri­ous head and fa­cial in­juries.

The in­ci­dent left a pa­rade of shops in Cow­ley cor­doned off by po­lice and the shop­keeper re­mained in hos­pi­tal more than a week later.

Dono­van’s case has been placed into the list to take place in the two weeks af­ter Novem­ber 28.
