ACS makes a Living Wage first
ACS Hillingdon has been officially recognised as the first international school to be accredited as a Living Wage employer.
The Living Wage Foundation presented a plaque this month to ACS managing director Chris Johnson, on behalf of the school.
Living Wage Foundation director, Katherine Chapman said: “We are delighted to welcome ACS International Schools to the Living Wage movement. We hope to see many others follow their lead.
“To date we have accredited over 2,300 leading employers, ranging from independent printers and bookshops, to wellknown companies such as Nationwide, Aviva and SSE, and we are thrilled to welcome ACS International Schools to this network.”
Gerry Peyton, human resources director at ACS, added: “We are fortunate to have incredibly dedicated and hard working staff and we are delighted to be the first international school organisation to become an accredited Living Wage Employer.
“ACS is justly proud of its reputation, results and values and we embrace our social responsibility in the community.
“We believe our commitment to our vision – ‘Through learning, inspire all to make a difference’ – applies as much to us as to our students.”
