Harefield Gazette - - SPORT -

BAL MANGAT and teenage sensation Qaiss Raja combined to break Uxbridge batting records for club’s fourth-string in the Middlesex League Division Three this week.

Raja, 14, became the youngest centurion in adults cricket, scoring an impressive 102 off 111 balls, beating his PB of 68.

His former coach, double centurion Mangat (pictured), scored the highest individual score of 208 off 173 balls, beating his PB of 193 set back in 2012.

They gained the highest third wicket partnership of 331 runs off 272 balls, in their game against Shepherds Bush fourths, resulting in a winning draw.

Raja lost an early wicket in the third over at number three and initially looked to restore the innings until the second wicket followed that of captain Muztenzur Khan.

Uxbridge were two down by the sixth over when Raja was joined by Mangat at number four, who also helped him achieve his recordbreaking Adult 50 last year aged 13. SPORT ROUND-UP
