Check out these volunteers
GREEN-FINGERED hotel staff have been rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in to help transform Ruislip Gardens.
A team of 18 volunteers from the London Heathrow Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square Marriott Hotel, Twickenham Marriott Hotel and St Ermin’s Hotel Westminster gave up their time to help Hillingdon Council’s Green Spaces in delivering the important conservation project. They spent a productive day clearing Himalayan Balsam from Yeading Brook in Ruislip, managing to clear more than 800 square metres of the plant.
Dragana Knezevic, countryside and conservation officer, said: “We cleared more space than we could have imagined. It’s so great to see such enthusiasm for maintaining the local environment.”
London Heathrow Marriott Hotel’s general manager, Ron Vos, added: “We love being part of the community here and we’re always keen to give something back where we can, so we’ve loved doing our bit for this important project.”
