‘Priced out’ of city

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION -

ALTHOUGH, so far as I know, not widely reported, Sadiq Khan has plans to price cars out of London.

Rather than impose fines for pollution on the air traffic that uses Heathrow airport, he has proposed a ‘low emission (congestion charge) zone extending outwards from central London, to include the area surrounded by the north/south circular roads ( see map).

I am not, by any means, a mathematician, but perhaps some enlightened soul could calculate the ratio of the emission produced by one paraffin burning jet aircraft to X number of petrol and diesel cars.

Heaven help local air quality if Heathrow airport’s expansion gets the go-ahead.
