Harefield Gazette - - SPORT -

HARLINGTON Ladies staged a great comeback in the second game of their bowls encounter with Uxbridge to emerge victorious from their away visit.

Trailing 17-10 after the initial game, the trio of Joan Fulbrook, Betty Poole and Cathy Fitzgerald produced a magnificent performance to win 21-8 and overturn the seven-point deficit that gave Harlington a 31-25 success.

Elsewhere, the Harlington mixed side did not enjoy similar fortunes as they lost to Rosedale despite being in the match going into the last game. A 20-16 victory in the opening exchange courtesy of efforts from Alan Macolive, Mick Goodrem and Sheila Cutmore was not enough as they lost the final two games 16-14 and 27-7 to eventually lose 59-41.
