Lo­cal bands play­ing to raise funds for Jess

LO­CAL mu­sic acts are tak­ing to the stage on Sun­day to help raise funds for an eight-year-old girl suf­fer­ing from a rare child­hood can­cer.

Jess Shep­herd from Hare­field was di­ag­nosed with neu­rob­las­toma when she was just three. Af­ter fight­ing it on sev­eral oc­ca­sions it has now re­turned for the fourth time and the brave young­ster needs ur­gent treat­ment in Amer­ica.

Hare­field United Foot­ball Club is host­ing what has be­come col­lo­qui­ally known as ‘Hare­stock’ to raise funds for flights, treat­ment and liv­ing ar­range­ments while Jess un­der­goes treat­ment.

Ten lo­cal bands and mu­si­cians will en­ter­tain at the club in Break­s­peare Road, Hare­field, from 11am of­fer­ing a great day of mu­sic and fun.

The £10 en­try fee goes di­rectly to­wards Jess’s fund.

The usual fes­ti­val fare of beers and burg­ers will be on sale as well as a few pleas­ant sur­prises.

Buy your tick­ets on the day or via the foot­ball club, the Hare­field Pub or from Pre­booc Cabs on Harvil Road, Hare­field. Pre­booc Cabs (01895 825825) are run­ning ex­tra cheap rates for fares go­ing to and from ‘Hare­stock’ and £1 from each fare is go­ing straight to Jess’s fund.
