Cannabis found at football ground
POLICE patrols in Ruislip over the weekend led to a drugs seizure after nitrous oxide cannisters and bags of cannabis were discovered at a football ground.
Officers attended Wealdstone Football Club in Grosvenor Vale on Sunday night after eight or nine people were trespassing on the site.
The drugs were found in the area but officers were unable to attribute them to anyone so no arrests could be made.
A/PS Burgess, who attended the scene, said: “We were carrying out patrols in Ruislip over the weekend in response to thefts of mopeds and motorcycles.
“PC Duerden and Special Constable Kandola stopped a group of eight to nine people trespassing in the grounds of Wealdstone Football Club.
“The group were dispersed and the items seized.”
Officers were carrying out the patrols searching for stolen motorbikes as part of Operation Venice which aims to target thieves in the area.
