Cannabis found at foot­ball ground

PO­LICE pa­trols in Ruis­lip over the week­end led to a drugs seizure af­ter ni­trous ox­ide can­nis­ters and bags of cannabis were dis­cov­ered at a foot­ball ground.

Of­fi­cers at­tended Weald­stone Foot­ball Club in Grosvenor Vale on Sun­day night af­ter eight or nine peo­ple were tres­pass­ing on the site.

The drugs were found in the area but of­fi­cers were un­able to at­tribute them to any­one so no ar­rests could be made.

A/PS Burgess, who at­tended the scene, said: “We were car­ry­ing out pa­trols in Ruis­lip over the week­end in re­sponse to thefts of mopeds and mo­tor­cy­cles.

“PC Duer­den and Spe­cial Con­sta­ble Kan­dola stopped a group of eight to nine peo­ple tres­pass­ing in the grounds of Weald­stone Foot­ball Club.

“The group were dis­persed and the items seized.”

Of­fi­cers were car­ry­ing out the pa­trols search­ing for stolen mo­tor­bikes as part of Op­er­a­tion Venice which aims to tar­get thieves in the area.
