Help the hospice that helped my wife

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION -

MAY I through this column say the following?

On 16th August 1991, my dear late wife Mrs Marie-Carmen Kirby died in the tender loving care of Michael Sobell Hospice, Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood, HA6 2RN.

In August of this year, I made a point of declining presents for my 75th birthday and besought instead financial gifts for the hospice.

The request produced about £1,600 plus and I wish to sincerely thank all those who contributed, those whom I have already personally thanked and those whom I have not and whom I do not know.

The hospice has assured me that it costs about 1.6 million pounds per year to run to ensure that residents are cared for without expense.

If I may, I mention that any other contributions to Michael Sobell Hospice are most welcome. ROBIN KIRBY The Fairway Ruislip
