Time for council to answer questions

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION -

FOLLOWING your article (Hillingdon Council pays millions to recycling giant Powerday) the Council, having caused so much misery to its residents over the past six years, should now publicly answer the following questions:

1) How could the Council have awarded multi-million pounds contracts to a company (Powerday) that had no planning permission to operate in West Drayton?

2) The Council should now make public the vendor selection documents to understand if there has been any bias towards Powerday while awarding it with contracts for 6 years.

3) Why does the Enforcement Notice (issued against Powerday over a year ago and which still has not been enforced) ask Powerday to restrict their operations to 08.00 - 18.00 from the current 24/7 operations and not completely cease their operation in West Drayton?

4) The Leader of the Council should explain why he has not taken any actions and has allowed the situation to deteriorate to such a mess. VLADIMIR MATVEEV Swan Road West Drayton
