Runners make their mark on Moor Park
Hundreds pound the ground for 15th Moor Park charity run Almost 2,000 people donned their running shoes for the 15th Moor Park 10k and Junior Fun Runs on Sunday, September 25.
The junior fun run saw more than 1,000 young people take part, which is the highest ever turnout for the event.
Donations are still pouring in but the event has raised at least £40,000 for the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood.
The weather held out despite predictions of downpours and 700 runners tackled the 10k race which kicked off from Merchant Taylors’ School.
First place trophies went to Kerr Millar who finished in 34 minutes and 18 seconds and Sasha Birkin who crossed the line in 41 minutes and 57 seconds. All cash raised will go to support and information services for people affected by cancer.
