Richardson on top table

Harefield Gazette - - SPORT -

SOUTH Ruislip boxer Dean Richardson has landed a place on the undercard of George Groves’ fight against Eduard Getknecht at Wembley Arena on November 18.

The 21 year old welterweight, who is so far unbeaten in two professional bouts, had lined up opponent number threat York Hall on October 29, but that fight has been scrapped in favour of a place at the top table with Groves, he recently got the opportunity to train with.

Wembley will be a change of scene for Richardson, who had fought both his bouts since turning pro last November at York Hall.

He beat Latvian super lightweight Aleksejs Grustans there on his debut back in March, before also seeing off Croatian welterweight Ivan Duvancic there two months later.

Out of the ring, Richardson recently became one of London’s youngest black cabbies after completing The Knowledge and being presented with his Green Badge at the end of August.
