The lost pubs that were hubs for men

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION -

I WONDER if the masterminds behind the culling of our pubs throughout the borough, have ever given any thought to the patrons who have used them to socialise and interact with friends?

As pubs have always been a male dominated domain, a lot of locals, especially elderly men, have been left at a loose end, creating loneliness.

In some instances, the pubs have been demolished to stay a wilderness – Tithe Farm Pub, Alexandra Ave, South Harrow, reportedly a Listed Building, supposed to be protected.

What is the justification?

MRS MT B EARL Hamilton Crescent Harrow
