Shedding a light on homelessness

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION -

THE recent story you published about Mr Rusaeck’s struggles with homelessness should hopefully help eliminate some of the ignorance and misconceptions! Not everyone ends up homeless due to alcohol or drug problems as some end up in this position due to life’s misfortunes such as bereavement, illness, redundancy.

Some like him are victims of violent crimes leaving them with physical or emotional damage which is also why some of our ex-servicemen and women end up on the streets when they leave the forces and some simply can’t afford their bills/rent on low wages.

That’s why it’s good there are charities like Acton Homeless Concern which helps to provide essential items and services to help them start to move on with their lives.
