HARKEERAT Singh wrote his chapter in West Drayton Youth FC folklore on Sunday.

The U10s player thundered home a free-kick from the halfway line in his side’s 2-2 draw with The Eight FC at the weekend.

The dimensions of the pitch mean his effort was fully 35 yards out, though as with other spectacular goals, the distance may increase in years to come when the story of his set-piece is told!

Vincent Walsh’s penalty meant Youth led 2-1 at the break, but despite a man-of-the-match display from goalkeeper Liam Dines their rivals equalised in the last minute and the points were shared out.

Youth’s other winners this weekend were The U14s (9-0), U11s (6-1), U9 Blues (4-1) and the U8 Yellows (5-3), but there were losses for U20s (7-3), U9 Yellows (6-1) and the U8 Blues (10-1).
