MP visits hospital to open new pharmacy
HAYES and Harlington MP John McDonnell joined health bosses to open a new pharmacy at Hillingdon Hospital.
Mr McDonnell toured the new outpatient facility on Monday November 14 with the chief executive of Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Shane Degaris and chief pharmacist Andrew Caunce.
The new facility was funded by Hillingdon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and features new high-tech equipment, including a waiting time display.
Shadow Chancellor Mr McDonnell said: “Knowing you are actually in the queue and being dealt with promptly is wonderful and that is all about the patient's welfare.”
The Labour MP was also shown the dispensing area and the computercontroller robot that picks out drugs and delivers them from the store room.
Mr McDonnell thanked the CCG and staff for their hard work.
Chief executive of the trust Mr Degaris praised the team for ‘yet again doing a brilliant job'.
Mr Caunce said: “The new outpatient pharmacy is a significant improvement as patients can now get any medicines immediately following their outpatient appointment.”
