Vic­tim hit with brick dur­ing rob­bery

Man man­aged to flee to a nearby gym, de­spite sus­tain­ing head in­juries dur­ing at­tack

PO­LICE have re­leased im­ages of two men they wish to speak to fol­low­ing a rob­bery which saw a man hit in the head with a brick in Northolt .

Metropoli­tan Po­lice said shortly af­ter 12.20am on July 10, a 43-year-old man was ap­proached by two sus­pects in Rowdell Road who de­manded money.

Of­fi­cers said that with­out warn­ing the first sus­pect at­tacked the man and hit him on the head with a brick. De­spite be­ing dazed, the vic­tim fled to a nearby gym where staff ad­min­is­tered first aid, of­fi­cers added.

Po­lice said both sus­pects ran off with the vic­tim’s bag which con­tained his mo­bile phone, cash, bank card and driv­ing li­cence.

The vic­tim, who has since been dis­charged, at­tended hos­pi­tal a short while later where he was treated for a deep cut to his cheek and eye­brow, along with bruis­ing and swelling to his face.

Of­fi­cers have de­scribed the first sus­pect as a black, dark-skinned male with short brown hair, wear­ing a grey hooded top and blue jeans.

Po­lice de­scribed the sec­ond sus­pect as a white male with short brown hair and was wear­ing a grey hooded top and blue jeans, along with a sil­ver chain.

DC An­drew Cress­well from Eal­ing CID, said: “This was a nasty at­tack on a man leav­ing the gym on his way home.

“It is only by sheer chance that he did not sus­tain any last­ing in­juries from a bru­tal at­tack to the head.
