Packing out the post office queues

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION -

AS there are people who persist in taking multiple packets/parcels to the post office shortly before it closes on a Saturday (weekdays also), isn’t it time all post offices had a separate counter for parcels?

Having stood in a queue on Saturday at Field End Road Post Office, while a particularly selfish individual slowly pulled out item after item to be weighted, priced, etc. another customer completely disregarded the board, which we must queue behind, and went straight to the counter, in complete oblivion of the queuing public.

The fact that there are only two operational counters made it all the more frustrating! When I complained to the counter clerk she said “He is a regular customer” (multiple parcel person) – to which I replied “We are all customers!”

Of recent, visits to the post office are becoming quite an ordeal! MRS MT BEAR L Hamilton Crescent Harrow
