LAUREL Lane Primary School, in West Drayton, is celebrating being named School of the Year in the third annual Mayor’s Fund for London Awards.

The award recognises the provision and support that is put in place to support young Londoners, in particular the facilities provided for vulnerable pupils.

As part of the Frays Academy Trust, Laurel Lane has worked to ensure all children are given opportunities they may not otherwise experience, which includes fully-funded ‘memorable visits’ for each year group to venues such as the theatre, adventure parks or camping on the school field.

A spokesman for Luarel Lane School said: “Laurel Lane continues to amend the support we offer to ensure all pupil needs are being addressed.

“We encourage pupils to realise they shouldn’t just be content and satisfied with what is already in place – all children should challenge the status quo and strive to become an active member of society when they reach adulthood.

“Laurel Lane is incredibly proud to share this award as it reflects the ongoing hard work demonstrated across the school and throughout the Academic Year.”
