AMY Holdcroft’s sharp shooting sent Denham United Ladies under-15s to the top of the league on Saturday.

Holdcroft hit three as Denham won 4-1 at Watford Ladies Harts, but she was not the only star.

Alisha Bajwa was also on target, Eloise Waring was named player of the match and Chloe Dawson produced some superb goalkeeping with Alice Finnigan outstanding at the back.

Denham sit top with a game in hand on their nearest rivals.

United’s reserves, sporting a new away kit sponsored by Nexen, lost a close game with secondplaced Charlton Athletic 3-2, Elishia Allen and Zoe Cox the ladies on target.

The U13s fought out a goalless draw with Garston Jaguars and the U11 Wildcats drawing 1-1 in an energy-sapping encounter with AFC Wimbledon on a very wet pitch at The Den. Maddison Perry was Denham’s scorer.

Elsewhere, goals from Lauran Cox, Gina Lee and Alketa Rragami were not enough to save a senior development squad containing a number of U16s from defeat in a friendly at Godalming.
