El­li­son is in the hunt

WEST Dray­ton Moun­tain Bike Club’s Neil El­li­son is third over­all in the Cen­tral Cross League se­ries with two races to go, af­ter fin­ish­ing sec­ond in the lat­est round.

Else­where, the West Dray­ton MBC/ Spe­cial­ized Ruis­lip team had a suc­cess­ful week­end in the first round of the Gor­rick Se­ries, Ge­orge Fowkes storm­ing to a win in the ju­ve­nile class in a time of 41 min­utes for his two four-mile laps.

His fa­ther Roger led the four-lap vet­er­ans race from start to fin­ish with Paul White fin­ish­ing fifth while Gosia McPher­son over­came me­chan­i­cal is­sues to win the Vet­er­ans Women’s cat­e­gory.

In the Sports Class, Nick Try’s con­sis­tent lap times saw him fin­ish sev­enth and Ka­sia Am­brose took third in the Sports Ladies cat­e­gory. Si­mon Slater fin­ished fourth in the Grand Vet­eran’s race and Ja­son Snell fin­ished 22nd in his class on his race de­but.
