Uxbridge man pleads guilty to abus­ing girl

AN Uxbridge man has been jailed after he was in­volved in sex­ual ac­tiv­ity with a child.

Billy Scar­rott, 20, pleaded guilty to sex­ual ac­tiv­ity with a child un­der 16 at Isle­worth Crown Court on Septem­ber 26.

He was sen­tenced at the same court on De­cem­ber 19 to two years in a young of­fend­ers’ in­sti­tu­tion. He must also sign the sex of­fend­ers reg­is­ter for 10 years.

The of­fence hap­pened in the Uxbridge area be­tween July and Septem­ber 2014.

The crime came to light after the vic­tim’s mother dis­cov­ered what had hap­pened and called the po­lice.

An in­ves­ti­ga­tion was launched by of­fi­cers from the Sex­ual Of­fences Ex­ploita­tion and Child Abuse Com­mand, and Scar­rott was ar­rested on Septem­ber 11, 2014.

He was charged on Jan­uary 14 2016.

A 17-year-old who can­not be named for le­gal rea­sons was also charged on the same day in con­nec­tion with the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

He pleaded guilty at Uxbridge Mag­is­trates’ Court to sex­ual ac­tiv­ity with a child and was sen­tenced to a Youth Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Order
