David’s off to a flyer...
STARS JOIN BA GROUND CREW AS PART OF COMIC RELIEF ‘THANK YOU’
CELEBRITIES swapped the glamour of first class air travel for a shift on the ground in customer service roles at Heathrow Airport as part of a collection of comedy videos for Red Nose Day.
Footage released by British Airways shows television personality and funny man David Walliams, Spice Girl Emma Bunton and Olympic swimmer Tom Daley sporting the airline’s uniform helping surprised passengers at Terminal 5 check-in.
The film launched on Wednesday (March 15), in support of Comic Relief - the airline’s charity partner - features all three celebrities undercover at the terminal making passengers do weird and wonderful things before passing security.
Behind the check-in desk customer service representative “Dave” asks travellers to pose seriously for security photos and even kisses a passenger’s passport photo.
Meanwhile Heart FM presenter Emma spiced up the “check-in kiosks” mischievously asking customers if they had packed any “sporty or ginger”’ products and who their favourite Spice Girl is.
Olympian Tom Daley even manages to persuade passengers to perform dive moves before flying as an extra security measure.
Troy Warfield, British Airways director of customer experience, said: “This year Red Nose Day is going back to its comedy roots, and we’re delighted to be supporting it with these great films from some of the nation’s favourite personalities working a shift at British Airways.
“The video is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to customers and staff for helping us raise over £15 million over the past seven years.” Red Nose Day will be held on Fri
day (March 24).
