Protesters clash as anti-fas­cist groups campaign against EDL

METROPOLI­TAN Po­lice of­fi­cers ar­rested six peo­ple as far right groups and anti-fas­cist groups protested in cen­tral Lon­don.

United Against Fas­cism (UAF) and United Against Ex­trem­ism (UAE) took to the streets on Satur­day as The English De­fence League (EDL) demon­strated from Vic­to­ria Em­bank­ment to Char­ing Cross sta­tion.

Po­lice con­firmed they ar­rested one per­son from UAE for breach of the peace and another for a public order of­fence while the group marched from St Paul’s Cathe­dral to Lon­don’s Bor­ough Mar­ket.

Another per­son was also ar­rested for a public order of­fence within the foot­print of the demon­stra­tion.

Three peo­ple from the UAF were ar­rested for breach of con­di­tions as they protested at Vic­to­ria Em­bank­ment.
