Constable faces sex offence charges

A METROPOLIT­AN Police constable has been charged with 16 counts of sexual offences.

PC Daniel Cooper, 31, of the Specialist Crime and Operations unit was charged on Thursday September 21 by officers from the Met’s Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command.

He has been charged with four offences of gross indecency, four offences of indecent assault, two offences of sexual touching of a child, five offences of possession of indecent images and one offence of sexual activity in front of a child.

PC Cooper, an officer working in Bromley, was arrested in May 2016 and was not on duty at the time of the alleged offences.

He is suspended from duty and the Directorat­e of Profession­al Standards has been informed.

He has been bailed and will appear at Bromley Magistrate­s’ Court on October 19.
