Lobby to save our police base
FURTHER investigation regarding Uxbridge Police Station closure now reveals that the decision to close and sell the station was taken by the Mayor of London when the Government ordered the Mayor to make vast cost savings in the Police Force.
The proposed action also involves maintaining only one 24/7 continuously manned station in the whole of Hillingdon Borough. As well as reducing police numbers. Any opposition to these proposals must be made urgently.
The Mayor and our MPs will only be swayed by sound arguments and strong public opposition.
The Mayor can be contacted in the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime, City Hall, Queens Walk, More London, London SE1 2AA or email enquiries@ mopac.london. gov.uk. Your local MP can be reached at Westminster.
Urgent action is required. Cost savings cannot be justified if public security is jeopardised, particularly at a time when we seem to be experiencing an increase in crime at all levels. Frank Rhodes via email
