Our safety not a consideration

Harefield Gazette - - YOUR SAY -

I am writing to voice my great concern about the proposed closure of Uxbridge Police Station and to locate the only continuously manned police station front desk at Hayes End.

Uxbridge contains the Civic Centre, is central to the Borough of Hillingdon and is accessible by a range of transport links to all residents if the Borough.

In addition the police station is directly opposite Uxbridge Magistrates Court - important for police who are witnesses involved in proceedings there.

Hayes End has poor transport links from the rest of the Borough and is not a place many people would go to as opposed to Uxbridge where people regularly come to work, shop and enjoy the restaurants and leisure facilities.

The proposal is clearly about money as the site of Uxbridge Police Station would raise a large sum of money from developers.

It does not consider the safety of the residents or their wishes or the efficiency of the police service. Anne Coburn Uxbridge
