Hay bales burn in barn fire
SMOKE from a barn fire in Northwood Hills was seen rising into the air on Wednesday morning, and firefighters spent five hours battling the flames.
An outbuilding in Joel Street was seriously damaged, along with three tractors. This photo, shared by London Fire Brigade, was taken in the farmyard with burning bales of straw and hay.
Roads were closed as the crews tackled the fire, which started just before 5am.
The firefighters were at the scene until around 10am. Crews from Ruislip, Harrow and Northolt fire stations all attended in four fire engines.
A total of 25 firefighters were needed at the scene to bring the blaze under control.
Roads were reopened after crews left the farm just after 10am.
