The inimitable Soho House Group has joined forces with the New Yorkbased Sydell Group at the Ned, a splendid 252-bedroom hotel, members’ club and haute hangout in the City. Working within the limits of a Grade I-listed property (originally designed by Edwin ‘Ned’ Lutyens, after whom the hotel is named), the team has created a dining hall of epic proportions where you can choose between seven cuisines, from British dishes at Millie’s and colourful poké at Kaia to Cecconi’s classic Italian fare. The spa is an opulent lair, with whimsical furniture, bold wallpaper and art deco lighting, and you can easily spend a day testing out the sauna, steam-room, hammam, 66-foot indoor pool and Cowshed treatments. Other grooming options include the Cheeky nail salon, the make-up artist Trish McEvoy’s Powder Room and a Miguel Perez hair salon.
From £250 a night for a Cosy room (020 3828 2000; www.thened.com).
