Revellers at the V&A’s Summer Party, hosted by the museum chairman Nicholas Coleridge in partnership with Harrods, were certainly making the most of the

beautiful balmy night. Greeted by a line of waiters holding ‘English garden’ martinis, guests including Edie Campbell, Elizabeth Hurley and Jack O’Connell made a beeline for the lush lawn in the museum’s John Madejski Garden. Samantha Cameron and Rachel Johnson braved the queue for the make-your-own smoked salmon blinis, while Princess Eugenie missed all the lobster rolls, so deep was she in conversation with the artist Jonathan Yeo. As darkness fell, the singer Nao took to a stage that was built over the fountains. When she launched into her hit single ‘So Good’, guests responded by kicking off their heels

to dance joyfully in the shallows. tf
