Stick lol­lies are best if you’re weight watch­ing – they en­force por­tion con­trol. More than 5g per 100g is a lot of sat­u­rated fat; more than 22g su­gar per 100g is a lot. Bear in mind that in dairy ices, a pro­por­tion of the su­gar will be milk su­gar (lac­tose), which doesn’t count as the harm­ful type. Ve­gan ice creams might seem lower in su­gar, but all of it will be the un­healthy free type. Watch out for co­conut – it’s high in sat­u­rated fat and calo­ries.
